On December 11, 2023 by userStuffed mushrooms make for a delicious and elegant appetizer. Here’s a classic recipe for stuffed mushrooms:
Ingredients:
- 20-24 large white mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems and finely chop them. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, melted butter, minced garlic, chopped mushroom stems, and chopped parsley. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly combined.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Remember that Parmesan cheese can be salty, so adjust accordingly.
- Lightly brush the mushroom caps with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet or in a baking dish.
- Spoon the breadcrumb mixture into each mushroom cap, pressing it down slightly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and the stuffing is golden brown.
- If desired, you can broil the stuffed mushrooms for an additional 1-2 minutes to get a golden, crispy top.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with additional chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
These stuffed mushrooms are a crowd-pleaser and can be enjoyed at parties, holidays, or as a tasty appetizer any time. Feel free to customize the filling by adding ingredients like chopped spinach, bacon, or different herbs to suit your taste.
