Ingredients:
For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Filling:
- 1 1/2 pounds white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock), skinless and boneless, cut into chunks
- 1/2 pound smoked fish (such as haddock or salmon), cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup shrimp or prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup chicken or fish broth
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Mashed Potatoes:
- Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender. Drain.
- Mash the potatoes with butter and milk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Filling:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and cook, stirring continuously, for about 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
