Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2-3 tablespoons water (to reach desired consistency)
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- Chopped cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
- Add water, one tablespoon at a time, and whisk until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. Add more water if you prefer a thinner sauce.
- If you like some heat, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce. Adjust the quantity based on your spice preference.
- Taste the sauce and adjust the flavors to your liking. You can add more soy sauce for saltiness, honey for sweetness, or vinegar for tanginess.
- Once you’ve achieved the desired flavor and consistency, let the sauce sit for at least 15-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, give the sauce a good stir. If it thickens too much, you can add a little more water to reach the desired consistency.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro or green onions if desired.
Use this peanut dipping sauce for spring rolls, satay skewers, grilled chicken, or as a flavorful dressing for salads. It’s a versatile and delicious accompaniment!
